Another thing is that nature did not have a Japanese feel. Although British Columbia in Canada is a lovely place, and this was probably due to various restrictions, including budget, I couldn’t help thinking it would have been better if Shōgun had been filmed in Japan.

Although I am not criticizing the show (2024), which I thoroughly enjoyed watching, I agree with your assessment, especially since I lived in BC for over 6 years. As I watched, I murmured, "Beautiful scenery beautiful BC...not Japan...but beautiful." LoL
