For normal folks, it is clear that you mean “making adjustments” is not the end goal. For weirdos like me, I got philosophical on the Twighlight tangent, and played with the idea that even improving the quality of life isn’t the end goal because it is synonymous with “tweaking” or “making adjustments” in life. So then, in my warped mind, what IS the end goal? My answer today that there is no “goal”, because a goal presumes a finality that I could celebrate, like passing the god-darn difficult Mandarin intermediate proficiency exam I keep flunking. lol
But a so-called “life goal” doesn’t compute because when I die, that’s it. No life, no celebration. That’s just for the survivors to partake in. I’m already gone. Can’t wait. lol
But your article is comforting because I do consider the adjustments my incremental goals, my milestones on the precarious road of sanity. lol
