Hi Adriano, I enjoyed reading your perspective on this topic. I have often wondered about it, too. I feel that people have an innate desire to be or feel relevant. Some people do volunteer work because they want to feel relevant to society by helping others without monetary compensation.
Also, some readers may go straight to the comments to evaluate whether the article is worth their time to read for lack of a diplomatic explanation. It’s like going to the product Or restaurant review section before reading the company blurb. But of course that is just the entry point. Engaging is another part of the feedback which you have also covered. I’m not a psychologist either, but I think people are constantly looking for confirmation about themselves and whether their voice matters in a conversation.
