Hi JC Finnegan, I couldn’t stop giggling from “What do you mean?”, the first of many that struck my funny bone. For me, what I felt worked really well was how you made the bot interact without truly interacting in a human way. Bot was clearly talking through AI and not a very advanced version of deep learning in my opinion. However, the great irony was that the protagonist kept interacting so authentically with it as if it actually were a human.
On another point, I was wondering if there was any reason not to include an entry line that helped readers settle into your story with a hint of some setting. For example: A sign which read “Wanna be a writer like me?” caught my eye at a writers’ conference, and right next to it stood a short but polished-looking robot.
I am now a fan of yours and thank you for inspiring me to have a go at fiction someday!
