Sorry, no, that's not accurate. We didn't come from chimps. But scientific evidence does point to the evolutionary theory that we share a common ancestor.

And that goes for monkeys, too. We did not evolve from monkeys. That's what certain religious fanatics and anti-science extremists will use to fight against the scientific approach to understanding nature.
