I would agree with this completely...unless you're only talking about Japanese workplaces. [and I know you're not. :) ] I'm Japanese, I work in Japan, and I know people here don't care about the people they work with. Japanese people find it awkward to connect on a human level at the office. And people will work 80+ hours a week without a fight. I see it every day, every week. Elon Musk could easily find willing people here to work for him just for the extra unpaid hours. (p.s. It's ok if people disagree with me. They may see differently. For me, it's as clear as the keyboard and screen in front of me now.)
