Thanks for this engaging read. I find that in a cross-cultural context, it can get pretty complicated. I can only speak from my own experience, but in my culture (Japanese), it depends on age, status, gender, and even points of view.

Of course, even here, nobody is interested in talking to an extreme narcissist. Common sense does apply to all cultures, I believe.
