This is a good reminder. It’s easy for some people to start talking about themselves when they ought to let the person finish their sentence. They make assumptions based on what the speaker has said and jump in to show they know the rest of it. My boss does that. My father does that. Lots of people do that. But a few of them mean well because they’re trying to relate to the speaker by showing empathy. We need to be able to discern if we just want a conversation or someone to listen to our hearts.
